LA ROUTE DU NORD (THE NORTH ROAD) Carlos Chahine, 2008
LES BLANCS by Lorraine Hansberry, directed by Craig Baldwin
Last year’s Tribeca Narrative Short winner, LA ROUTE DU NORD follows a Lebanese-born man in his forties who returns home from France to ensure his father finally gets a proper burial years after his death in the civil war. Following the film, another prodigal son returns to Africa and is conflicted by familial expectations in LES BLANCS, a posthumous play by the great Lorraine Hansberry (RAISINS IN THE SUN).
